Policies

In addition to specific policies and regulations set forth here, all hunters will become familiar with, and agree to abide by any and all applicable Illinois Department of Natural Resources Hunting Regulations. Hunters are responsible for acquiring all necessary license and tags from the Illinois DNR (see site above), although we will be glad to assist you in the application process. For archery hunters, please call prior to applying for permit for information that will greatly increase your chances of getting one. Due to popularity and limited non-resident whitetail hunting permits, please make sure you apply early!
Double Drop Whitetail Outfitter hunting areas are located in Region 4.
We require 50% of the total price of your hunting package as a non-refundable payment at the time of booking. For archery hunters, balance must be paid in full by July 25th of the hunt year. For firearm hunters, balance must be paid in full by September 15th of the hunt year. Hunters who have not paid in full by the required date automatically forfeit their hunting package and their slot will be filled with a hunter from the waiting list.

Hunters are responsible for procuring travel to Double Drop Whitetail Outfitter facilities.
Upon arrival, hunters must be in possession of their hunting permit, license, and habitat stamp. (Do not purchase your license/stamp until you have successfully obtained a permit as refunds are not issued from the IL DNR!)
Before hunting, all hunters must agree to and sign a liability release form.
Shot/wounded deer are considered harvested deer. We will assist you in tracking/finding your harvest for the rest of your hunt.
Hunters are required to provide their own safety harness and wear it at all times while in a stand.
Hunters will notify a guide immediately upon shooting/killing. We will assist you in finding, properly tagging and checking in your harvest. No hunter will track/move their kill until a Double Drop Whitetail Outfitter representative is onsite.
Hunters may not, at any time, leave their stand to freely wander the hunting area. If a bedding area is disturbed, your chances at being successful greatly decrease.
Gun hunters are required to wear solid blaze orange vest and hat.
Gun hunters must have a plug installed in their shotgun.
Everything brought onto the property must be removed from the property. (scent bombs, wafers, ammunition, etc.)
There will be a $300 penalty fee for any buck harvested with a gross score of less than 130.
There will be a $500 penalty fee if a buck scoring less than 130 is taken on the last day of your hunt.
Hunting safety is paramount. Any hunter participating in activities detrimental to their own, or other's, safety (as determined by a Double Drop Whitetail Outfitter representative) will immediately forfeit the rest of their hunt, without refund, and be required to leave Double Drop Whitetail Outfitter and all associated properties.
